White Lace Dress

dress and headband: topshop (dress-old)
shoes: dr.martens (old-sale)
necklace: rock'n'rose
silver rings: asos

Ahhh this dress is so old! It's one of the few items I actually still like/wear that I've owned for longer than a year. I remember picking it up over 3 years ago when my boyfriend of 2 weeks at the time (now my fiance!) took me away for the weekend for the first time (to Blackpool!) so I ran round Topshop like a woman possessed trying to find holiday outfits and ended up spending about half my wage in my 15 minute break from work! And now here I am wearing the same dress with my engagement ring! I can always remember what outfits I wore to any special occasions or places I've been to and I love how an item of clothing can keep those memories with them and bring me right back to that time or place, like the same way a particular scent can, or a piece of music.

Do you own any items of clothing that hold any fond memories?

The Autumn Face - Berry Lips

Face Of The Day

The perfect look for Autumn - pale skin and dark berry lips.
(I know it's technically still Summer but Autumn is creeping up on us so it's best to be prepared!)

Firstly I primed my face using Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning which I'm using practically everyday at the moment. I don't find it leaves the skin particularly tanned but it does give my skin a fresh glow. I can see me using this all year round as it feels so comfortable on the skin and just smooths everything out. For my base I wanted a bit more coverage than my usual CC Cream so I dug out my Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation which is perfect for giving a really flawless finish but still provides a natural and  luminous glow to the skin. This product got forgotten about for a while but I'm so glad I rediscovered it is such a great foundation.
I used my current go-to concealing duo of Benefit Boi-ing and YSL Touche Eclat to cover dark circles and blemishes. I didn't want my makeup to be too girly so I chose to skip my usual pink blusher (a rare occasion) and opted to to do a bit of contouring for a stronger and more defined look. I applied the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder beneath my cheekbones in the hollows of my cheeks (still getting the hang of this product!) and then the Benefit High Beam on top of my cheekbones to really highlight them and give my face a bit more dimension.
I really wanted my lips to be the focus of the look so a couple of coats of Clinique High Impaact Extra Volume Mascara was all I needed to define my eyes without them taking the limelight. I decided to go for darker lips now that Summer is coming to an end and the Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in '107' is a gorgeous deep berry shade. I love the formula of this - I definitely prefer a matte lip but I find some have a chalky finish and are really drying whereas this still keeps my lips hydrated and looking super healthy.
Voila, my Autumn face is complete!

Will you be making any changes to your makeup now that Autumn is approaching?

Asos Tartan Dip Dye Dress

dress: asos
bag and hat: topshop (old)
boots: urban outfitters (old)
ring: rock'n'rose
belt: vintage
necklace: can't remember (so old!)

I absolutely love this dress! It reminds me of something by Vivianne Westwood with the tartan fabric and just the overall shape of it. Only it was actually pretty cheap as I bought it on free delivery day at ASOS and I used a 10% discount code. Sneaky. I have to wear a belt with it though to bring it in at the waist because there's oversized, and then there's OVERSIZED. If you know what I mean? I think the cutout sleeves and the graduated hemline really add to the cool/casual with an edge style to the dress and I can see me wearing this a lot. I also couldn't resist wearing this union jack bag to add to the British heritage  feel to the look.
I'm looking a lot like I'm ready for Autumn here. Back to thick fabrics, dark colours and burgundy lipstick. But lets face it, it's looking as if Summer is over for another year :(

Minkpink Patchwork Dress

dress: minkpink
hat, socks and boots: topshop (studded boots sold out on website)
belt: river island (old)
red ring: rock'n'rose
other rings: presents

I've always dreamed of owning an item of clothing from Minkpink. I've always loved their clothes and the relaxed boho kind of vibe to the brand and the dresses inparticular have such beautiful prints and I like that they're girly but edgy at the same time. This dress was £60 on ASOS so I did what I always do and typed it into google to see if I could get it any cheaper and . . . voila! £36 on a website called Richmond Classics which sells lots of different brands for half the price! I absolutely love scouring the internet and finding branded clothing for cheaper and most of the time you can. I once fell in love with an Eleven Paris coat on ASOS but it was out of my budget so I went on their direct website and ended up ordering it from France. Managed to get it £70 cheaper even with paying for postage so it's definitely worth a bit of time and effort to score a bargain!

Skincare Wishlist

Skincare Wishlist

1. I know I'm a bit late with this one but I've wanted the Hydraluron Moisture Booster ever since it came out and everybody and their mum bought one - apart from me, wahh :( It's weird, sometimes I'll want a product for so long but never actually get round to buying it but then I'll see something random I've never even heard anything about and I'll just buy it straight away on the spare of the moment! Don't really know why I do that! Although wooooo, I've actually just noticed that the brand Indeed Labs are a third off at Boots at the moment so this may be the time to finally get it.

2. I'm not using a night serum at the moment and I've always fancied trying the original Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair after reading so many positive reviews about it on blogs but now I really really want it since I found out it's had an upgrade and claims to be 'better than ever'!

3. This Summer I have dabbled back into the world of self tanning thanks to a wonderful purchase that was Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel. However I am always wary about applying products that are meant for the body onto the face, I prefer to use a seperate product that is specifically designed for the face so's to prevent from any possible breakouts and what not. For this reason the Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning is at the top of my wishlist so my face can boast a bronze Summer glow to match my body :)
Not actually got that either at the moment but I'm working on it.

4. The Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm is probably the most talked about cleanser in the blogging world for a long while and yet again it's one of those products I've wanted to try but just haven't managed to bite the bullet and buy. I'm not too keen on foamy face washes so I think this luxurious balm/oil would be ideal to cleanse my skin without drying it out.

5. I could definitely do with finding a good face mask to add to my routine to give my skin a bit of a boost and the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel looks to be the perfect exfoliating treatment without being too harsh on the skin. I've heard good things about it on other blogs so would love to give it a go.

6. Ok so I will never be able to afford this until I win the lottery/get a sugar daddy (probably not worth it) as it's like a thousand pounds (£98) but this is a wishlist not a 'I'm going to get' list so the Sunday Riley Juno Serum is on the list! I blame myself for subscribing to the Cult Beauty e-mail list - normally I hate those annoying advertisements of products yet everything that the Cult Beauty website sends to my inbox I end up clicking on to find out more. Doh. Blake Lively uses this apparently and how glowing is her skin?

7. I am over halfway through my 30ml sample of the Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream so I have to make sure I have a full-size lined up buy the time I finish it as it's such an amazing day moisturiser for my skin. It's so thick and moisturising yet it soaks in really quickly and feels very lightweight on the skin. It soaks up any oil and just feels so . . . fresh?! I've been using it in the mornings and it's just a great all-round moisturiser that I will definitely continue to use.

Have you tried any of these products?

Holiday Style Diary: White lace Skirt and Jellies

skirt: coco's fortune (white one sold out)
top: motel (now in the sale!)
jelly shoes: juju
necklace: present

This is the last outfit from my holiday and the final look from my holiday style diary!
I decided to tuck the dress I wore earlier in the week into a skirt so people didn't think I was wearing the same outfit
(think I got away with it?)
I didn't actually take very many clothes on holiday because I booked it so last minute so I didn't have time to get anything new or even plan what to take so it was all about packing some lightweight basics I could mix and match!
I got this skirt last year for £7. Ultimate bargain.

Hope you enjoyed having a peek into my holiday wardrobe!

Holiday Style Diary: Tunic Dress and Holiday Makeup

Outfit of the Day
dress: motel *now in the sale* (dam it!)
sandals: topshop (plain black not on website)
necklace: present

Possibly the simplest outfit ever but in the heat and humidity you obviously can't be piling on loads of layers
I had to really cut out wearing much jewellery aswell as I just found it so annoying when I was all sticky and covered in suncream and mosquito repellent. nice. ha
This tunic/ dress was ideal just to chuck on in the evening because the material is so lightweight and it is soooo comfy (really can't be doing with anything clingy in hot weather, no no - bodycon is not my friend)

Face of the Day

I actually didn't wear any make up during the day whilst I was on holiday (just piled on the SPF) but I did put in a bit more effort in the evening so here is one of my favourite holiday make up looks!
I opted for my go-to base at the moment which is Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning - great for a hint of subtle colour and stops your make up sliding of in the heat - and Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream which although I wear all the time is perfect for a holiday as it is lightweight, moisturising and contains SPF30. I apply it using my buffing brush from the Real Techniques Core Collection.
I used Benefit Boi-ing Concealer to cover any redness and my trusty YSL Touche Eclat to brighten under my eyes. I've started using my Real Techniques detailer brush to apply both of these. I used to use my fingers but I really enjoy using the brush now as it's very precise and is probably more hygenic!
Benefit Fine-one-one is a handy product to use when I'm in a rush as I just swipe it across my cheeks and blend it in a little using my finger as it provides a flush of colour, highlights and contours all in one go, and nobody wants to spend ages getting ready on holiday right?
For my eyes I prepped my lids using the the only eye primer I can see me using for a long time, Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. Wouldn't usually attempt to wear eyeshadow on a sunny holiday but there's no worry of it running or smudging with this great product. To create the smokey look I applied Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadow in 'Immortal Charcoal' across the whole lid blending it out around the edges with my Topshop Eyeshadow Brush so's it wasn't too harsh. I love this eyeshadow to create a really quick smokey eye, it takes about 3 minutes! I put a couple of coats of Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara on my lashes too - i'm nearly coming to the end of the tube sadly as it's a really good all-round mascara.
To finish of my look I slicked on L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in 'Dating Coral'. I was constantly reaching for the Rouge Caresses while I was away because I wanted to keep my lips moisturised yet still have some kind of colour although nothing too much, so these are perfect for that. I didn't either bother taking any lipsticks with me as I knew I'd end up using something more sheer and comfortable on the lips.

What are your essential products for holiday makeup?

Peace Out! :D
