Polka Dot Pretty

slip dress: urban outfitters (bought in NY)
top (worn underneath): miss selfridge
sunglasses: vintage
satchel: zatchels
jelly shoes: juju

Ahhh I've missed this backdrop! It's been ages since I've done outfit photos in my garden. Hopefully now it's brightening up outside I will be able to do a lot more outfit posts :)
I am absolutely loving these spaghetti strap style slip dresses at the moment which explains why I have ended up with 3 in my wardrobe recently (I always end up going OTT when I really fall for a trend!) The first one is this one from Urbans which I got while I was on honeymoon. It's by a brand called Lucca Couture which I don't know whether they sell in the UK or not. It's just the perfect 'throw on at anytime of day' dress :) and what other shoes to team it with than my trusty jellies? (which are making their first appearance since last Summer) Welcome back old friends!

How have you been styling your slip dress?

My New Favourite Brand: Fresh

When I visited New York a few weeks ago (yes I will stop going on about it after this post. Hehe. Oopsy. I just honestly feel like it changed my life! Exaggeration? No.) I did take a teeny bit of spending money for fashion/beauty purposes (ofcourse!) but I wanted to spend wisely and make sure I got things that aren't readily available to buy at home.
I mostly ended up buying clothes to be honest as I'd sacrificed fashion for beauty in the lead up to my wedding as I went a bit crayyzee trying to find 'the perfect wedding makeup' *guilty* but the one beauty brand I knew I couldn't leave NY without was fresh!
I specifically wanted to get the Sugar Lip Polish as Lily Pebbles had mentioned it in her favourites video ages ago and it just really appealed to me so it had been in my 'mental wishlist' for some time. However when I got to the fresh counter there was just so many other products which drew me in and I was there for way longer than Zak would have liked! All the packaging just looked so clean and 'fresh'. haaa. professional yet quirky at the same time? I was just sold basically!
Eventually (sorry for the wait Zak!) I decided on a tinted lip balm which delivers the perfect 'your lips but better' shade - I was spoilt for choice with their range of sugar lip treatments but I've always loved the rose scent.
And the rose face mask: again there was a couple of others that took my fancy but 'rose' wins everytime with me. I have to say I have no regrets, the smell of the face mask is divine . . . it has a very strange runny jam like texture (messy but worth it) and on the 2 occasions I've used it so far (after cleansing) I've woken up with a 'fresh' (sorry!) revitalised and luminous complexion that people have actually commented on. I think that if someone else actually complements you then you know a product is worth buying rather than convincing yourself something is working because you really want it to. I do really recommend this mask for calming the skin and toning down any redness or angry blemishes. An absolute joy to use :)

The only negative about the brand I can think of is that it is hard to get hold of in the UK. I know there is a store dedicated to fresh in London but seen as I live up North and have no plans to visit this year it's not ideal.
Also the only place I've managed to find online that ships Fresh cosmetics within the UK is StrawberryNET. Now my only experience of trying to order from that site before is when I bought some morrocanoil, which I waited weeks on end for yet never received. When I emailed to find out it's whereabouts they apologised and gave me my money back but still no explanation with regards to what happened with my order so I've always been put off from ordering from there since. Looks like I may just have to try again though in order to get my 'fresh' fix!

Have you ever tried anything from fresh? Do you know anywhere I can get hold of it in the UK outside London?

What I Wore . . . in New York

coat: eleven paris
dress: river island (sold out)
belt and hat: topshop
creepers: underground

jacket and leggings: topshop
t-shirt: truffle shuffle (sold out)

I know these aren't the most ground-breaking of outfits but New York was bloody freezing when we went and it rained constantly for 2 of the days so I had to put warmth and comfort first, especially as we were walking around outside so much. I actually had to wear Zak's anorak for the last half of the weekend after laughing at him about how uncool it is. oopsy :/

If you would like to see any non fashion related pics from my honeymoon in New York . . . the sights, my new hubby etc then you can either follow my twitter @_AZTEC_DOLL or my instagram aztec_doll :)

I Got Married! + Honeymoon Vlog: New York

Heelllloooo! You may have noticed I've been absent from the blogging scene for just over a month or so . . . I've just been a bit tied up tying the knot you see ;) hehe! I got married to my . . . husband (aahh, still feels weird saying that!) Zakarie James on the 22nd March and I'm pleased to say it went without a hitch!
It all happened so fast from when we set the date back in October and I still can't believe we managed to pull it off without forgetting something major. haaaa. I am still waiting to get the professional photos back and when I do I will be sure to pop some on here for y'all to see :) though if you would like to see a few snippets from the big day then you can check out my twitter: @_AZTEC_DOLL and instagram: aztec_doll.

Me and Zak were so lucky to be able to go to my all time dream destination for our honeymoon . . . New York! I say my dream destination as Zaks idea of a holiday is lying on white sands and soaking up the sun, but with the time frame we had (I was back at work the following week *cries*) NYC was the perfect choice and Zak ended up falling in love with the big apple just as much as I did :)
In the four days we were there we managed to do everything we planned despite the rain trying to dampen our spirits over the entire weekend *typical!*
I decided I wanted to film a few bits while we were there and I thought making a video diary would be perfect to keep as a a kind of souvenir of the best holiday we will ever have . . . an ideal way to show our family and friends what we got up to while we were there . . . it is also a great guide for anyone thinking about going to the big city in the future.
Anyway, I hope you check out ^^the vlog^^ this is my first attempt at anything like this - I have only ever filmed one other youtube video which was my everyday make up routine and editing this one was a lot more challenging (respect to every vlogger out there for your patience!) so if you like it please give it a thumbs up :)

Happy Viewing!
